Took Fifty Years

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Staff, Stanstead

Itstarted in 1964 when, as we reported then, a meeting was organized by the Sherbrooke federation of what was still called the ‘Caisse Populaire’ to merge the Three Villages’ ‘caisses’ with the promise of keeping services in the 3 locations. The Beebe one closed its door last month.

Meanwhile, the CIBC is reaping in customers by the dozens. It offers longer service hours, open up to 5:00 pm except on Thursday when it is open till seven. While it’s a challenge to compare service fees, they seem to be on par or lower than at Desjardins.
