LastWednesday, just after 11 pm, the Regie de police Memphremagog (RPM) received a call about a car that was going at a good pace on Beaudoin Street, in Magog, and then went through a stop sign on the corner of Beaudoin and Des Pins. The car then drove over the sidewalk on Lacasse Street and through several construction cones. Although two of the car’s tires went flat, the driver continued on his merry way. The police were able to locate the driver thanks to citizens who followed him. The man was visibly intoxicated by alcohol and was taken to the station where he failed two Breathalyzer tests. He appeared the following day to face charges of drinking and driving, failure to report an accident and dangerous driving. He was released under condition that he only use his vehicle to go to work and that he not consume alcohol. He must return to court on September 12th.
