BEEBE PLAIN VS HATLEY BASEBALL MATCH The baseball match which came off here on Friday last, between Beebe Plain and Hatley, resulted in a victory for the latter. Being unacquainted with the game I am unable to give particulars but I learn that the Beebe Plain club expressed entire satisfaction with their hospitable treatment, while the Hatley boys were loud in their praises of the former. A game the next day by the second nines of Hatley and North Hatley was played. R.C. CHURCH STANSTEAD Rev. Father Faure, assistant at the R.C. Church, Stanstead, left Friday afternoon to join the French army. FORD PURCHASES AID LOCAL INDUSTRIES For purchases of tools, dies and other supplies from Rock Island firms run as high as $61,525 annually. These expenditures by one Canadian company assist materially in the creation of employment and payrolls in Rock Island. This is revealed by Wallace R. Campbell, president Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, in a statement released today in which he presents an analysis of his company’s expenditures in the Dominion which totaled more than $32,000,000 last year.
