The Sureté du Que­bec is look­ing for 43 yearold Stephane Trem­blay for cir­cu­lat­ing coun­ter­feit money in the Beauce re­gion dur­ing the last few weeks. He is sus­pected of op­er­at­ing in other ar­eas, such as the Estrie, as well. Cit­i­zens are en­cour­aged to keep vig­i­lant and to check the web­site at sq.gouv.qc.ca to learn how to rec­og­nize coun­ter­feit money.

The Regie de po­lice Mem­phrem­a­gog (RPM) ar­rested a 63 year-old man in Vic­to­ri­av­ille on Septem­ber 15th. He is sus­pected of sex­u­ally abus­ing four young boys be­tween the ages of seven and eleven be­tween 1998 and 2011. Orig­i­nally from Ma­gog, the sus­pect was ar­rested fol­low­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion which be­gan in De­cem­ber of 2011 af­ter a first com­plaint from an in­di­vid­ual. Once the

sus­pect’s name is avail­able to the pub­lic, which should be soon, any other vic­tims of this man are en­cour­aged to re­port to the RPM. The sus­pect is known to po­lice and was once the head of a net­work of drug traf­fick­ers. He was also found guilty of deal­ing co­caine and gang­ster­ism in 2008.

Op­er­a­tion Ci­saille con­tin­ues in the Estrie re­gion. On Septem­ber 9th, SQ of­fi­cers erad­i­cated 300 ma­ture mar­i­juana plants in the mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties of East­man and Pot­ton. Dur­ing the week be­fore, 940 plants were found and seized in the mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties of St-Isi­dore-de-Clifton and Bury. In the last ten years,

Op­er­a­tion Ci­saille has led to the erad­i­ca­tion of 6 mil­lion mar­i­juana plants. Close to 25,000 in­ves­ti­ga­tions were opened in con­nec­tion to the pro­duc­tion or sell­ing of mar­i­juana and more than 9000 ar­rests have been made.
