Stanstead Mar­ket ends Sun­day

TheS­tanstead Mar­ket will be end­ing the sea­son, this Sun­day from 10:00 to noon, on the grounds of the Colby Cur­tis Mu­seum. Food ven­dors will be sell­ing fresh vegetables, ap­ples, bi­son prod­ucts, smoked fish prod­ucts, honey prod­ucts, home-baked goods, jams and jel­lies and im­ported olive oil. Ar­ti­sans on site will have jew­ellery, stained glass, hand­made soap and more. A bonus, shop­pers can snack on hot samosas while they shop.

“Attendance has been down this year, we had a few rainy Sun­days. So we’re try­ing to think of some­thing dif­fer­ent for next year and look­ing for sug­ges­tions,” said Bev Good­sell, one of the or­ga­niz­ers of the Mar­ket. The or­ga­niz­ers are also look­ing for ven­dors of cer­tain prod­ucts for next year, such as meat, cheese, fair trade cof­fee, an­tiques, and food that can be eaten on site such as pizza. “I think it would be nice if some of our shop­pers had a place to sit in the shade and some­thing to eat for a light lunch,’ ex­plained Mrs. Good­sell. Three gen­er­a­tions can be found at the kiosk of the the Stanstead Mar­ket: his daugh­ter and two of his grand­chil­dren.
