Stanstead Journal - - FRONT PAGE - Staff

Last Friday, a thirty year-old man from Stanstead died tragically. At around 6:00 pm, a Sureté du Quebec officer who was patrolling on Railroad Street, in Stanstead, was stopped by a citizen who was concerned about a man who was hurt and lying on the ground. The officer found the man to be unconscious and with serious injuries, including to his head. He was brought to the hospital by ambulance but died of his injuries the next day.

Following the investigation at the scene and the information gathered from witnesses, it was discovered that the man had been in a vehicle being driven by a woman. An argument took place while the vehicle drove along Railroad Street, and it was then that the man opened his car door and jumped out while the vehicle was in motion. That fall proved to be fatal.
