More than a dozen residents attended Monday night’s council meeting in Ogden, most of them concerned about a development project on Descente 12. “A development project is being proposed and our building inspector has given permission to a landowner to break up a piece of land into ten lots,” said mayor Michael Sudlow. Citizens, including the mayor, are concerned about how the environment will be affected by the cutting of trees on a slope beside the lake, the making of new roads, and how it will affect the flow of rainwater onto other properties.

What is of equal concern to the residents is that the said landowner has a relative with some lake front property and that the property may be used to accommodate some of the boats of the new residents. “Yes, I’m concerned with that kind of development. We gave notice of a motion to possibly change the usage of land on the lakeshore to avoid an over-concentration of activity,” said Mr. Sudlow.
