RBC Players of the week Pier-Olivier Grand-Maison & Shawn Ouellet
The Quebec Junior Hockey League announced today the recipients of RBC players of the week for the week ending October 19th.
Defensively, the honor went to goal
tender Shawn Ouellet of Cougars du Collège Champlain de Sherbrooke, who receives this honor for the 2nd time this season. During the past week, Ouellet played a key role in the three wins of his team where he allowed 7 goals on 69 shots for a 2:33 goals against average and a .899% saving percentage. The 20-year-old goaltender began the past week by allowing 3 goals on 26 shots in the 5-3 win at Saint-Jérôme, Wednesday October 15th. On Friday the 17, in the 1st game of a back to back series against the Condors, he gave-up only 1 goal on 18 shots in a 2-1 victory while two days later, in Sherbrooke, he allowed 3 goals on 25 shots in a 4-3 win. Overall this season, Ouellet played in 11 games where he compiled a record of 9 wins, 1 loss, allowed 29 goals on 247 shots including 1 shutout, a 2:70 goals against average and a .883% saving percentage. In the voting, he beat out, goaltender Kevin Darveau and defenseman Maxime L.-Drapeau of Longueuil.
