Police News – Watch out for deer!

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

During hunting season and with the return of cold weather, collisions on the roads with deer have increased. The Sureté du Quebec would like to remind drivers to slow down when they see deer signs, when driving along forested roads and where the vegetation borders the road, making it impossible to see the deer before they run onto the road. In the Eastern Townships, there are literally hundreds of collisions with deer every year, most often in the spring and fall. These happen almost everywhere on the territory, even in the middle of towns.

Officers with the Regie de police Memphremagog (RPM) were busy over the weekend, being called to intervene in ten cases of domestic fighting, family violence or for problems between individuals. No arrests were made. Four women, in four different files, were arrested for cannabis possession and two men were arrested for drunk driving, all in Magog.
