6th Forum on Social Economy
The Memphremagog MRC’s social economy committee held its 6th citizen’s forum on October 29th under the theme: “Heritage and social economy, a winning combination”. Close to forty people took part, citizens, elected officials and people from the economic and social community.
“The members of the committee hope that this year’s forum will offer to people in the community the chance to air their issues regarding the development of the territory under the angle of the role that the social economy can play in the preservation of the heritage of our MRC, more specifically for those places that are not being used now,” mentioned Jocelyn Jussaume, a director at the CLD of Memphremagog.
Besides hearing about a few social economy projects, the participants assisted in an interactive panel on the role that social economy can play in the challenge of finding new vocations for heritage sites.
