6th Fo­rum on So­cial Econ­omy

The Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC’s so­cial econ­omy com­mit­tee held its 6th cit­i­zen’s fo­rum on Oc­to­ber 29th un­der the theme: “Her­itage and so­cial econ­omy, a win­ning com­bi­na­tion”. Close to forty peo­ple took part, cit­i­zens, elected of­fi­cials and peo­ple from the eco­nomic and so­cial com­mu­nity.

“The mem­bers of the com­mit­tee hope that this year’s fo­rum will of­fer to peo­ple in the com­mu­nity the chance to air their is­sues re­gard­ing the de­vel­op­ment of the ter­ri­tory un­der the an­gle of the role that the so­cial econ­omy can play in the preser­va­tion of the her­itage of our MRC, more specif­i­cally for those places that are not be­ing used now,” men­tioned Jocelyn Jus­saume, a di­rec­tor at the CLD of Mem­phrem­a­gog.

Be­sides hear­ing about a few so­cial econ­omy projects, the par­tic­i­pants as­sisted in an in­ter­ac­tive panel on the role that so­cial econ­omy can play in the chal­lenge of find­ing new vo­ca­tions for her­itage sites.
