Austin Oc­to­ber W.I. Meet­ing

TheAustin W.I. met at the home of Debi Bonn on Chemin Viens on Wed., Oct. 8th at 1:30 p.m. The theme was Thanks­giv­ing & Hal­loween with the din­ing area trimmed ac­cord­ingly. Debi was dressed as a French Maid as she wel­comed 8 mem­bers wear­ing cos­tumes & mask, con­sist­ing of a red headed Raggedy Ann, a Hawai­ian Dancer with a beau­ti­ful flower Lei & a re­ally short Grass Skirt, a clas­sic Dutch Lady, a hat with lit up hair and witches with long black hair & var­i­ous hats & masks. Be­fore the meet­ing we all sat down to a won­der­ful meal of Chicken Pot Pie with Sal­ads, a spe­cial Ice Cream desert, topped off with a well-trimmed Birth­day Cake for Win­nie Kirby to cel­e­brate her 94th Birth­day Oct. 3rd. Best wishes were ex­pressed by all present. At 2 p.m. the meet­ing was opened with all recit­ing the Mary Ste­wart Col­lect & Salute to the Cana­dian Flag. MOTTO: Or­chards have shed their trea­sur­ers, The fields their yel­low grain So open wide their door­way Thanks­giv­ing is here again. Min­utes & trea­surer’s re­port from the Septem­ber meet­ing were given & all were ap­proved. The monthly draw­ing was won by Bea Juby and she will sup­ply the prize for Novem­ber. Plans for Bur­saries were dis­cussed but not yet com­pleted. All ex­pressed a huge thanks to Debi for en­ter­tain­ing us in her home & treat­ing us to the de­li­cious meal. The Novem­ber meet­ing will take place at the Austin Town Hall. It will be hosted by all mem­bers with Pot Luck re­fresh­ments. Date: Novem­ber 12, 2014 at 12 noon. Roll Call: All wear a poppy and re­cite to­gether HYMN OF ALL NA­TIONS.
