Farmer fined for pol­lut­ing in Dixville

On July 28th, 2014, agri­cul­tural pro­ducer Benoit Provencher, of Barn­ston West, was de­clared guilty of an in­frac­tion of the Re­gle­ment sur le cap­tage des eaux souter­raines. On June 21, 2011, Mr. Provencher pro­ceeded to spread an­i­mal ma­nure less than thirty me­tres from an un­der­ground wa­ter source des­tined for hu­man con­sump­tion, thereby con­tra­ven­ing Ar­ti­cle 26. He was or­dered to pay a fine of $2000 and court costs of $734.
