Farmer fined for polluting in Dixville
On July 28th, 2014, agricultural producer Benoit Provencher, of Barnston West, was declared guilty of an infraction of the Reglement sur le captage des eaux souterraines. On June 21, 2011, Mr. Provencher proceeded to spread animal manure less than thirty metres from an underground water source destined for human consumption, thereby contravening Article 26. He was ordered to pay a fine of $2000 and court costs of $734.
