Donald Lecture featuring Edward Burtynsky
Bishop’sUniversity invites you to attend the second lecture of the Donald Lecture Series on Wednesday, November 26, featuring Edward Burtynsky, one of Canada’s most respected photographers. His remarkable photographic depictions of global industrial landscapes are included in the collections of over 60 major museums around the world, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum, Madrid, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California.
In presenting a survey of his work, whether as large-scale colour photographs or more recently in film production, Burtynsky will discuss the intersection of his imagemaking process as an artist while exploring modern civilizations’s troubling relationship with nature.
This Lecture will be on Wednesday, November 26, at 7 p.m. at Centennial Theatre, 2600 College Street, Sherbrooke.
