Bishop’sUniver­sity in­vites you to at­tend the sec­ond lec­ture of the Don­ald Lec­ture Se­ries on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 26, fea­tur­ing Ed­ward Bur­tyn­sky, one of Canada’s most re­spected pho­tog­ra­phers. His re­mark­able pho­to­graphic de­pic­tions of global in­dus­trial land­scapes are in­cluded in the col­lec­tions of over 60 ma­jor mu­se­ums around the world, in­clud­ing the Na­tional Gallery of Canada, the Mu­seum of Mod­ern Art and the Guggen­heim Mu­seum in New York, the Reina Sofia Mu­seum, Madrid, and the Los An­ge­les County Mu­seum of Art in Cal­i­for­nia.

In pre­sent­ing a survey of his work, whether as large-scale colour photographs or more re­cently in film pro­duc­tion, Bur­tyn­sky will dis­cuss the in­ter­sec­tion of his im­age­mak­ing process as an artist while ex­plor­ing mod­ern civ­i­liza­tions’s trou­bling re­la­tion­ship with na­ture.

This Lec­ture will be on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 26, at 7 p.m. at Cen­ten­nial The­atre, 2600 Col­lege Street, Sher­brooke.
