Win­ter park­ing rules in ef­fect

TheRegie de po­lice de Mem­phrem­a­gog (RPM) would like to re­mind the pop­u­la­tion that the win­ter park­ing hours on their ter­ri­tory came into ef­fect on Novem­ber 1st and will con­tinue un­til April 1st, 2015. De­pend­ing on the mu­nic­i­pal­ity, the new hours when park­ing on the roads is not al­lowed are: Magog, from mid­night to 7:00 am; Or­ford, at all times; Austin, from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am; and Ste-Cather­ine de Hat­ley, park­ing is pro­hib­ited at all times ex­cept on GrandRue when it is pro­hib­ited from mid­night to 7:00 am.

Po­lice have been giv­ing out warn­ing no­tices since Novem­ber 1st, how­ever, if there is a snow­fall or if a car owner parks his car on the street for a sec­ond time when not al­lowed, they $76.00. If a car parked on a road dur­ing the pro­hib­ited hours gets in the way of a snow­plow, it could be towed away at the owner’s ex­pense.
