CHUS User’s Committee wins top prize
During the annual congress of the RPCU ( Regroupement provincial des comites des usagers) which was held in Laval earlier in November, the CHUS ( Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke) User’s Committee received the prize for Committee of the Year. “We have the privilege of working with a most dynamic User’s committee which takes part actively in the reflections and actions taken at the heart of our establishment to improve the care and services to the patients,” commented Linda Hubert, the director of quality, planning, evaluation and performance. “The committee allows us to see through the eyes of patients and their relatives,” she added.
“At the CHUS, the users have the opportunity to be heard and the management listens attentively. We are real partners,” commented Denis Marceau, the president of the CHUS User’s Committee.
The mission of User’s Committees is to inform the users of the hospital’s services (clients and patients) of their rights and obligations; to promote the improvement of the well-being of users; evaluate the degree of satisfaction among users regarding services obtained; defend the rights and interests of users; accompany and assist users in all steps if they wish to make a complaint.
