Meet­ing, at Vic­to­ria #16 in Coat­i­cook

OnNov. 8/14 sev­eral mem­bers and vis­i­tors gath­ered at Vic­to­ria #16 Lodge Hall for Soup and sand­wich sup­per with dessert and bev­er­ages.

Dur­ing sup­per Dis­trict Deputy Grand Mar­shal#5, Ernes­tine Whipple, had the hon­our of pre­sent­ing our Dis­trict Deputy Grand Master #5, Dorothy Bab­bin Houle.

At the Head Ta­ble, Dorothy Bab­bin, our DDGM # 5, Noble Grand Arnold MacKeage, and es­cort Ernes­tine, Grand Mar­shal of GL of Q., Joyce Cop­ping, and Grand Master of GL Ed Cop­ping. Arnold wel­comed ev­ery­one.

Dorothy Bab­bin, who is Chap­lain of Vic­to­ria, said “Grace” and asked for a minute’s si­lence in hon­our of all Ser­vice Men and Women es­pe­cially those tragic events re­sult­ing in the deaths of Pa­trice Vincent and Nathan Cir­illo, we never imag­ine that in our own coun­try some­thing like this could hap­pen.

After good food and fel­low­ship we were ready to start our Meet­ing.

Noble Grand Arnold opened the meet­ing “in form”. Then DDG Mar­shal Ernes­tine in­tro­duced the DDG Master, Dorothy who then took over her Dis­trict Meet­ing. Since Ernes­tine is also Sec­re­tary Dorothy ap­pointed Eve­lyn Kee­ble, as Sec­re­tary for the day. Thank you Evvie! And all who as­sisted!!

DDG mar­shal Ernes­tine pre­sented the Ap­pointed Of­fi­cers of all branches of the Or­der. They were wel­comed and seated. Then G Mar­shal Joyce pre­sented the Elec­tive Of­fi­cers. They were given “the Hon­ours” I wish to take this op­por­tu­nity to ex­press my sin­cere thanks to each and ev­ery­one while I was a pa­tient in the Magog hos­pi­tal. Thank you to the Am­bu­lance team of Justin and Jus­tine for their great job. To the 6th floor nurses & Doc­tors for the won­der­ful care I was given spe­cially Dr. Anc­til for her daily re­as­sur­ing vis­its. Spe­cial thanks to my two fam­i­lies, friends and neigh­bours for the vis­its, calls, cards, gifts and flow­ers. Your thought­ful­ness and prayers will be with me for­ever. I would also like to thank my par­ents for all they done while I was in the hos­pi­tal and the home cook­ing since my re­turn home. My sis­ter Barb for her daily vis­its after her long nights at work and also home cook­ing and Francine for all her help. Now last but not least my hus­band Dan for his love and support. Thank you all from the bot­tom of my heart. God Bless you all.

Cather­ine Buzzell Fleu­rant and read a lovely verse, then seated. Joyce then had the priv­i­lege of pre­sent­ing the GM Ed. He also re­ceived “the Hon­ours” and seated be­side Dorothy.

Dorothy ran an ex­cel­lent meet­ing and was con­grat­u­lated by all present. Her In­stal­la­tions were also very well con­ducted. We are very proud of her! After all who wished to speak, Dorothy ex­tended “the Greet­ings” and thanked all her In­stalling Staff and all who filled in to­day and all who at­tended.

The Meet­ing was then closed “in form” by NG Arnold who also did a fine job.

– Passed away in the pres­ence of his loving fam­ily and dear friend on Novem­ber 19th, 2014. Dear hus­band of the late San­dra Sisco and pre­cious fa­ther of Laureen (David Far­row). Cher­ished brother of Harry (Shirley) and Stephen (Diane). Lau­rie will also be sadly missed by his nieces, neph­ews, and many friends. As a trib­ute to his mem­ory, do­na­tions made to the Cana­dian Can­cer So­ci­ety, 3330 King West, bureau 130, Sher­brooke, Que. J1L 1C9 or the Fron­tier So­ci­ety, C.P. 2505, 1 Bigelow, would be greatly ap­pre­ci­ated by the fam­ily. A cel­e­bra­tion of his life will be held at the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion, Branch #5, 15 Maple Street, Stanstead, QC.
