At Sunnyside catch lunch & send students on adventure
Sunnyside Elementary is hosting a Christmas Tea and Silent Auction, this Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, to raise money for the end-of-year class trip of the Cycle 3 students and for classroom supplies. Being served at the luncheon will be sandwiches, lots of home-baked desserts, tea, coffee and juices. There will also be about fifteen artisans exhibiting and selling their handicrafts at the annual event.
“We hope to see a really good crowd and we appreciate all the support we’ve received so far from the community to help the students go on this trip,” said Tammy Mosher, one of the Cycle 3 teachers. Ticket sales have been going well and people can bring items for the Silent Auction to the school until Friday.
“This year we’ll be taking the students towards Montreal, to Havelock for the Arbre en Arbre adventure. Then we’ll head across the border of Ontario to the Calypso Water Park. Last year the students went rafting and they liked it more than going to the museums. They like the physical activity and we had a more positive outcome from the trip, better participation and enthusiasm,” said Ms. Mosher.
