Last Friday, Sureté du Quebec officers intercepted a suspect vehicle at the intersection of autoroutes 10 and 35, and then questioned a man from Ogden in his sixties. The suspect will be implicated in an illegal tobacco network operating in the Ogden area. During the search of his vehicle, the police found one hundred and twenty plastic Ziploc type bags containing two hundred cigarettes each, seizing the cigarettes along with the vehicle.

The Sherbrooke Police Service released the latest statistics on criminality, provided by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics, which showed a decrease in violent crime in Sherbrooke of 6% in 2013. All of the categories of violent crime went down between 2 % and 16%. The most prevalent violent crimes in Sherbrooke are assault, criminal harassment and sexual assault.
