Nov.4/14 District #5 Deputy Grand Master Dorothy Babbin and Staff travelled to Danville for the purpose of having her Commission read and the Annual Installation of Officers. It was a cold and rainy evening but the reception from Danville members was warm and friendly. Ron Evans, Noble Grand, opened the meeting “in form” and welcomed everyone, hoping for a good and not too long a meeting. Under New Business the District Deputy Grand Marshal, Ernestine Whipple, ascertained that Danville was ready to proceed with the Ceremony of Installation. They confirmed they were. DDGM Ernestine lead in the Staff and DDGM # 5, Dorothy was introduced and given “the Honours” and escorted to the NG Station. DDG Warden was Lloyd Smith, DDG Chaplain was Joyce Copping, DDG Past Grand was Barbara Smith, DDG Secretary was Ed Copping, DDG Treasurer was Arnold MacKeage. DDG Inside Guardian, Nancy Barton, and DDG Outside Guardian was JP Houle. As Ceremony was about to begin there was a very loud noise at the door. Our late guests were Everett Arnott and Helen Brown. On a cold, rainy night it was felt they should not have to wait outside so they were permitted to enter, since they travelled from Sutton and Waterloo. After the Meeting all sat down to a DELICIOUS lunch and good fellowship. Many thanks to our hosts and all who prepared such good dessert and sandwiches. All sentiments were exchanged and then we left for home.
