Learn Algonquin at book launch

Au­nique book is be­ing launched at the Haskell Li­brary, this Satur­day at 10:00 am, by Og­den res­i­dent Cyn­thia Cas­tonguay. Rec­om­mended for chil­dren be­tween 3 and 7 years of age, it is an audio book spo­ken in two lan­guages: French and Algonquin! The book, which con­tains many il­lus­tra­tions, is about a seven year-old who de­scribes how his na­tive fam­ily lives in the wilder­ness. “It was writ­ten for young chil­dren but it is also a good way for older peo­ple to learn a lit­tle Algonquin!” said the au­thor. The ti­tle of the book is: Otipi ac­itc Sikon – Racine et prin­temps. Ev­ery­one is wel­come to at­tend the launch.
