LastThursday, officers arrested a Sherbrooke man in connection with child pornography. Benoit Fraikin, a forty year-old man, appeared at the Sherbrooke Court House on the same day for possession of child pornography. The police searched his home and his work place where material was seized to be analyzed. (RPM) reported about fifteen road accidents on their territory between January 21st and the 23rd, thankfully with no injuries. Icy road conditions were to blame for most of the accidents. On the night of January 21st, a fifty yearold man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. His vehicle was seen driving very slowly in a 70 km zone and sometimes going in the wrong direction, in Magog.
On January 17th, the Sherbrooke Police Service was called to a fire at 55 Wellington Street South by the fire department. After investigation, the fire was deemed suspect. The Sherbrooke Police Service is asking the public for help regarding this file. Anyone with information can call 819 821-5555.
Retail businesses and computer boutiques in the Sherbrooke area are being targeted by telephone fraudsters. When the employee answers the phone, an individual tells them that they are a good client of the com- pany and they want to make a purchase with their credit card. The suspect confrms that they are from out of town and that a delivery person will pick up the order and eliver it to Laval. After the delivery person picks up the parcel, the credit card proves to be false. Anyone who has been a victim of this fraud should call the police at 819 821-5555.
