Thepresident of the Corporation de developpement de l’aeroport de Sherbrooke (CDAS), municipal councillor Julien Lachance, reacted with prudence to the reports suggesting that the City of Boston was a “serious option” as a development partner with Sherbrooke.

“We have had discussions with Boston, as we have had with the representatives of other communities, notably Burlington. For now, many scenarios are on the table to find the best formula in order to offer quality services at the Sherbrooke airport,” said Mr. Lachance.

The CDAS along with elected officials and employees of the City of Sherbrooke have been working for months to gather the most support possible to develop the airport. “All political support is welcome and we highlight the work of all the regional deputees who contribute to our objective which is to obtain designation for the Sherbrooke airport,” commented the president of the CDAS.

Private discussions will continue with different partners, during the next few weeks, and the City of Sherbrooke hopes that a positive announcement will be made soon regarding this file.
