Sherbrooke honored for ice storm response

City of Sherbrooke was honored for its handling of the ice storm, in December of 2013, during the 19th Merite Quebecois de la securite civile et incendie, last Tuesday, in Quebec City. The award recognizes the mobilisation of teams and the leadership shown by the municipal public security organization. Beginning on December 22nd, 2013, more than 33,000 Sherbrooke homes were without power. Close to 250 municipal employees worked during the holidays to re-establish the situation and to help the public.
