Sher­brooke hon­ored for ice storm re­sponse

City of Sher­brooke was hon­ored for its han­dling of the ice storm, in De­cem­ber of 2013, dur­ing the 19th Merite Que­be­cois de la securite civile et in­cendie, last Tues­day, in Que­bec City. The award rec­og­nizes the mo­bil­i­sa­tion of teams and the lead­er­ship shown by the mu­nic­i­pal public se­cu­rity or­ga­ni­za­tion. Be­gin­ning on De­cem­ber 22nd, 2013, more than 33,000 Sher­brooke homes were with­out power. Close to 250 mu­nic­i­pal em­ploy­ees worked dur­ing the hol­i­days to re-es­tab­lish the sit­u­a­tion and to help the public.
