Es­tria Wood­wind Quin­tet

Fri­day March 6th will see the con­tin­u­a­tion of the Au­tumn Ge­nius se­ries be­ing pre­sented by the Es­tria Quin­tet, the Up­lands Cul­tural and Her­itage Cen­tre and UUEstrie Church. This se­ries of six con­fer­ence-con­certs, which is free for se­niors, is a trib­ute to ma­ture ge­nius and fea­tures com­posers and per­form­ers who have made sig­nif­i­cant artis­tic con­tri­bu­tions at a later age. Two pre­sen­ta­tions will be given of each event: the first at 11 am at UU Estrie Church in North Hat­ley (fol­lowed by a light lunch in the church’s hall down­stairs) and the sec­ond at 3 pm at the Up­lands Cul­tural and Her­itage Cen­tre in Lennoxville (fol­lowed by an af­ter­noon tea). Any­one who wants to at­tend ei­ther pre­sen­ta­tion MUST book in ad­vance as places are very limited.

On March 6th, Dr. François de Médi­cis (Uni­ver­sity of Mon­tréal) will present (in French) the com­poser César Franck. In ad­di­tion, the young Sher­brooke pi­anist, Mr. Tris­tan Long­val-Gagné (win­ner of the Prix d’europe in 2010) will be per­form­ing Franck’s Pre­lude, Chorale and Fugue. Other dates of the se­ries are April 10th, May 1st and June 5th.
