Pond Hockey proves popular

are pleased with how the first edi­tion of the Mem­phrem­a­gog Pond Hockey tour­na­ment turned out. There were hun­dreds of par­tic­i­pants and spec­ta­tors who came to Merry Point to watch the thirty teams, more than two hun­dred play­ers, com­pete for victory on the frozen wa­ters of Lake Mem­phrem­a­gog. For a change, nice tem­per­a­tures were present for the games that be­gan on Satur­day morn­ing and fin­ished on Sun­day. For­mer ana­di­ens player Yvon Lam­bert was the hon­orary pres­i­dent of the event and was on hand through­out the week­end sign­ing au­to­graphs and hav­ing his pic­ture taken with fans.

Win­ners of the tour­na­ment were ran­ite Rouleau, of Ma­gog, and the par­tic­i­pa­tion prize went to onstruction lain ar­rier, of Sher­brooke.

Pond Hockey Tour­na­ment cham­pi­ons were Gran­ite Rouleau of Ma­gog : Alex Lord, François Trem­blay, Carl Le­feb­vre, Jérome Anc­til, Mathieu Lavoie and Michael Rien­deau.
