Coaticook A.C.W. Annual Pancake Supper
ShroveTuesday also known as “Mardi Gras” the day before Ash Wednesday is also the first day of Lent. Christians are encouraged to eat plain, simple food during the Lenten season. As a result many use up rich ingredients such as butter, flour and egg. What easier way to do that than by making pancakes! On Shrove Tuesday (February 17th), St Stephen’s A.C.W. members and friends hosted their annual pancake supper at the Coaticook Golf Club. The menu was pancakes with real maple syrup, hash browns, baked beans, bacon, sausages, varied salads, homemade rolls, with tea, coffee and cold drinks to accompany delicious desserts. Reverend Edward Symonton asked the blessing. There was an attendance of approximately 150. The A.C.W. wishes to thank the Coaticook Golf Club, volunteers, those who donated food, and helped in any way. We also wish to thank all who came and supported us. Hope to see you next year!
