30th edition of Loterie Jevi
In the Estrie, about one person commits suicide every week. For each of those deaths, at least ten people will be seriously affected and in need of learning how to go on after the loss of a loved one.
“Unfortunately for many, suicide is seen as a solution when faced with life’s difficulties. Now we have the chance to take part in this fight to prevent suicide. This is not a fight that we battle in vain, but a daily fight that gets results,” commented this year’s co-presidents, Doctors Audrey Vertefeuille and Mathieu Faubert.
The objective of this year’s campaign is to sell all 550 raffle tickets for a gross profit of $82,500. Those who buy raffle tickets, besides contributing to a worthwhile cause, get the chance to win one of six trips from Club Stan-Buy, one of two Spa Eastman packages, a $500 gift certificate for the Carrefour de l’Estrie or a $350 gift certificate for the Centre de villegiature Jouvence.
People interested in buying tickets either individually or in groups can call 819 564-7349. The drawing will take place on Wednesday, June 10th.
Launching the 30th Loterie Jevi was (l. to r.): Richard Caron, president; honorary co-presidents Dr. Audrey Vertefeuille and Dr. Mathieu Faubert; and Marcel St-Onge who spoke movingly at the press conference about his own experience.
