Eileen Cor­co­ran joins VHS

With over six year of ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing with mu­se­ums, his­tor­i­cal so­ci­eties, and other cul­tural or­ga­ni­za­tions, Eileen Cor­co­ran comes to the Ver­mont His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety to fur­ther de­velop com­mu­nity out­reach with Ver­mont’s lo­cal his­tor­i­cal so­ci­eties and mu­se­ums. The com­mu­nity out­reach co­or­di­na­tor is re­spon­si­ble for im­ple­ment­ing pro­grams in sup­port of com­mu­nity-based her­itage or­ga­ni­za­tions through­out Ver­mont and co­or­di­nat­ing the de­liv­ery of out­reach pro­grams statewide.

Eileen’s ex­pe­ri­ence in­cludes house man­age­ment with the Town Hall Theater in Mid­dle­bury; she was the ex­ec­u­tive direc­tor for the Friends of Ver­gennes Opera House; and she has served as direc­tor of the Ver­mont Col­lec­tions Care Pro­gram for the VT Mu­seum & Gallery Al­liance. Eileen says, “I look for­ward to work­ing with mem­bers of VHS’s League of Lo­cal His­tor­i­cal So­ci­eties and Mu­se­ums. We are mak­ing plans now to visit and work col­lab­o­ra­tively with or­ga­ni­za­tions around the state.” Eileen’s ex­pe­ri­ence with is­sues sur­round­ing col­lec­tions care and man­age­ment, as well as sus­tain­abil­ity for non­prof­its, will serve her Ver­mont His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety con­stituents well.
