Mike Goudreau will put on a special performance, accompanied by Slightly Haggard, at the Stanstead Legion on Saturday night. Don’t miss it!
Localentertainer Mike Goudreau will be performing, this Saturday evening, at the Stanstead Legion for the first time. “Mike is rather special around here so having him offer to perform is a great way to try and get new people in to see what the Legion is,” said Larry Cuerrier, the president of the Stanstead Legion. Mike will be accompanied by the popular local band g t agga d for the dance that begins at 9:00.
“I was talking with Mike about our costs, taxes, everything going up, and he agreed to help out. It’s a great effort for a guy like Mike to volunteer and get others involved. He’s very popular in the region so we really appreciate them helping us out,” commented Stanstead Legion member Larry Lepitre who is in charge of entertainment at the Legion Hall. “Mike’s grandfather was a Veteran and a member of the Stanstead Legion,” added Mr. Lepitre.
A ‘Ham Shoot Dart Tournament’ will take place at the Stanstead Legion on Saturday, April 4th, beginning at 1:00 pm with registration beginning at noon. Bring your own partner! Students play school trip
Sunnyside students tried out a new pastime, last Saturday at the Stanstead Legion, during a Children’s Dart Tournament that was held to raise money for the grade 5/6 end-of-year class trip. “The kids all had adults with them as they played and they were able to raise over $550 for their trip,” said Mr. Cuerrier who continued: “Now we’re talking about a dart league for kids between about eight and fifteen, because not everyone likes to play hockey in the winter. We’ll have to put it before the Legion Committee first, to see if it goes through. Some of those kids were really good!”
