Shoulder To Shoulder
On 19th April 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Centennial Theater in Lennoxville, the music of Les Fusiliers de Sherbrooke will hold a fundraising concert to benefit the Resource Center for military families in the Eastern Townships, to support our veterans and the Cadet Groups Musical Bands in Sherbrooke. The concert will be presided over by Mr. Claude Métras.
For that occasion, the Korean Amabassador will present the Ambassador for Peace Medal to eight Korean War veterans. Four veterans will be recognized posthumously. The recipients are Messrs. Gilles Gagné, Ralph MacPherson, Charles Henri Vallière and Alphonse Pelletier. Mesdames Simone Brousseau, Thérèse Jolin, Noëlla Lagacé, Réjeanne Dufresne and Line Fecteau will receive posthumously the Ambassador of Peace Medal on behalf of the deceased militaries which will be presented directly from the hands of the Consul General and Permanent Representative to the Council of ICAO, his Excellency Mr. Jin Hur.
The following distinguished guests will be present: Major-General (retired) Alain Forand, Honorary Colonel of the Royal 22nd Regiment, Mrs. Diane Tardif from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Mr. Pierre-Luc Dussault, Federal Deputy for Sherbrooke.
The Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada are inviting all of you to come to this musical event which will definitely please you and also, to participate in the ceremony by the Korean Republic to recognize those veterans. These veterans fought along with 15 other countries to preserve those values that we believe in as a nation: peace, liberty and justice.
