Religious heritage sites on agenda of upcoming meeting
A symposium concerning the religious heritage in the Coaticook MRC, called “Par Chemins et parvis” will be held on April 18th, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, at the Union Church of Way’s Mills, 2063 Chemin du Ruisseau in Barnston West.
The day has been planned to look at the future of the churches and cemeteries on the Coaticook MRC territory. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about the changes in usage and financing of these heritage sites and in mobilizing citizens in transformation projects.
This symposium has been organized by the religious heritage committee of the Table de concertation culturelle de la MRC de Coaticook (TCCC) and the Coaticook MRC. It is made possible thanks to a cultural development agreement between the Coaticook MRC and the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications in 2015.
People interested in attending this event can call 819 849-7083, extension 228, to register.
The Barnston Baptist Church is a religious heritage site that was saved by the local Francophone community.
