Grapes & Haskell Named Piper Athletes Of The Month
BriannaGrapes from the senior girls basketball team and Hunter Haskell from the senior boys hockey team have been named the Piper Athletes of the months for March.
Grapes averaged 12 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds per game during the month while helping her team win the silver medal in the RSEQ AA league play offs. The shooting guard hit many clutch shots throughout the month including three pointers. The 15 year old leads by example on and off the court. She constantly works hard on perfecting her basketball skills during lunch hours, basketball concentration and practices. The Waterville resident is also on the honour roll list for her academic achievements. The grade ten student will return next year and provide more great leadership and championships.
Haskell help lead the Pipers to an ETIAC play off championship while recording five goals and three assists in three games. The veteran center logged heavy minutes on the power play and penalty kill as well. The 16 year old used his blazing speed to create space and scoring chances for his teammates. The Stanstead native will return next year and his leadership and experience will be vital for the young team to be successful.
