The­Club has named th­ese schol­ar­ships “The Paul Lu­cas Vo­ca­tional Schol­ar­ships”, in mem­ory of Paul, a teacher, who was in­stru­men­tal in sug­gest­ing th­ese awards.

Th­ese awards will be based on the ap­pli­cants’ fi­nan­cial need, scholas­tic record, demon­strated ded­i­ca­tion and de­sire to pur­sue a vo­ca­tional ca­reer, and the rec­om­men­da­tions of the school guid­ance per­son­nel and teach­ers. Each cho­sen re­cip­i­ent will be awarded $750.00, payable to the ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tion from which they have been ac­cepted. The Ro­tary Club of the Bound­ary, will make the fi­nal se­lec­tion from the ap­pli­ca­tions re­ceived, and stu­dents will be guests of the club to re­ceive their award.

Ap­pli­cants may make for­mal ap­pli­ca­tion by sub­mit­ting a let­ter, out­lin­ing the ca­reer goals, and a de­scrip­tion of com­mu­nity ac­tiv­i­ties they have been in­volved in and why Ro­tary should sup­port their con­tin­u­ing stud­ies. This let­ter must be ac­com­pa­nied by a tran­script of their grades, as well as a let­ters of rec­om­men­da­tion from a teacher, and a let­ter from a mem­ber of their com­mu­nity.
