Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

Withthe launch of the Sherbrooke Carticipe website, where citizens can suggest ideas, see the ideas of others, and share comments about tourism development in Sherbrooke, Destination Sherbrooke is asking citizens to imagine the future of Sherbrooke and vote for the tourism project that they like the best. Anyone with stimulating or dynamic ideas and suggestions for recreo-tourism development in Sherbrooke can put them on the Sherbrooke Carticipe website where they will be analysed by the team at Destination Sherbrooke. Five projects will be chosen from all those suggested and they will be presented to the public for a vote to choose the best. That project will come to fruition in 2016-2017.

“By putting in place this process, Destination Sherbrooke hopes citizens take ownership of the tourism development in their city. The organization also wants to hear the ideas, concerns and interests of the citizens,” mentioned Jean-Francois Ouellet, director of innovation and development at Destination Sherbrooke. “Who knows if it will be your great idea that sees the light of day!” he added.

Until May 15th, citizens are invited to visit sherbrooke.carticipe.com and share their best tourism ideas. The announcement of the five finalists and the beginning of the public voting will take place on May 21st. On June 18th “La Bonne IDee”, the project chosen by the voters, will be revealed.

“With La Bonne IDee, our citizens can come together around a common project that will make Sherbrooke shine,” said Remi Demers, the president of Destination Sherbrooke. Jean-François Ouellet, director of innovation and development at Destination Sherbrooke, and Lynn Blouin, director of promotion, sport and business tourism at Destination Sherbrooke, hope citizens will share their tourism project ideas on the new Carticipe Sherbrooke website.
