First Sherbrooke Collegial Partnership for World Book and Copyright Day

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Sherbrooke, Lennoxville

Justin time for UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day, the three Sherbrooke colleges: Champlain College – Lennoxville, Collégial du Séminaire de Sherbrooke and Cégep de Sherbrooke, joined forces to raise awareness concerning copyright laws with their respective students. This pedagogical activity was an ideal cause to unite them in promoting the respect of copyright laws.

During the activity held simultaneously in the three educational establishments, the students had an opportunity to win gift certificates from three local bookstores by simply answering a short quiz on copyright laws prepared by the three Colleges.

The draws were made possible with the help of the important sponsors: Bishop’s University COOP, COOP du Séminaire de Sherbrooke, COOP du Cégep de Sherbrooke and Renaud-Bray. Twenty-five gift certificates were won by students attending Sherbrooke’s three Colleges.

Following the success of the initial edition, it is hoped this will become an annual event and there will be many other pedagogical collaborations. The organizers are already looking towards the 2016 edition and to forming an Eastern Township’s Collegial Partnership.
