Black Cat Books holds Authors for Indies Day
Black Cat Books, Lennoxville’s independent bookstore, held an Authors for Indies Day on Saturday, May 2nd. Throughout the afternoon, several local authors were in the store to sign copies of their own books, to talk with customers, to discuss their favourite books and to help people to make their own book selections,
in that way highlighting the special service that can only be found in the independent book store. Similar events took place in independent bookstores across the country last Saturday.
The authors who participated in the event on Saturday at Black Cat Books were:
J. Derek Booth, Robert Chadwick, Heather Davis, Angela Leuck, Steve Luxton, Ross Murray and Denis Palmer.
Some winning writers were also announced at the literary event last Saturday. Marjorie Bruhmuller, who was recently featured in our newspaper for her poetry writing abilities, was the winner of a Haiku contest that went on during Poetry Month at Black Cat Books. Brenda Hartwell was the Grand Winner of this year’s Bulwer Purple Prose contest.
