Black Cat Books holds Au­thors for Indies Day

Black Cat Books, Lennoxville’s in­de­pen­dent book­store, held an Au­thors for Indies Day on Satur­day, May 2nd. Through­out the af­ter­noon, sev­eral lo­cal au­thors were in the store to sign copies of their own books, to talk with cus­tomers, to dis­cuss their favourite books and to help peo­ple to make their own book se­lec­tions,

in that way high­light­ing the spe­cial ser­vice that can only be found in the in­de­pen­dent book store. Sim­i­lar events took place in in­de­pen­dent book­stores across the coun­try last Satur­day.

The au­thors who par­tic­i­pated in the event on Satur­day at Black Cat Books were:

J. Derek Booth, Robert Chad­wick, Heather Davis, An­gela Leuck, Steve Lux­ton, Ross Mur­ray and De­nis Palmer.

Some win­ning writ­ers were also an­nounced at the lit­er­ary event last Satur­day. Mar­jorie Bruh­muller, who was re­cently fea­tured in our news­pa­per for her po­etry writ­ing abil­i­ties, was the win­ner of a Haiku con­test that went on dur­ing Po­etry Month at Black Cat Books. Brenda Hartwell was the Grand Win­ner of this year’s Bul­wer Pur­ple Prose con­test.
