CAA-Quebec launches Worst Roads

Stanstead Journal - - FORUM - Québec

CNW Telbec/ - For the first time, CAA-Quebec has launched an initiative to establish a list of the worst roads in the province. As of today, residents in all regions can make their voices heard at worstroadscaaque, by either reporting a road or stretch of road that in their opinion deserves “hall of shame” status, or voting for one that’s already been nominated. At the end of May, CAA-Quebec will use the list to encourage the relevant authorities to repair and maintain them.

“When we say ‘worst road,’ we mean worse that a couple of potholes!” explains Sophie Gagnon, CAAQuebec’s Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs. “We’re talking about surfaces in such bad shape that they can not only cause damage to vehicles, but are also a threat to traffic safety. And after the frigid winter we’ve just been through, we want authorities to heed the message that it’s important to be even more vigilant and take the necessary action, because too often, simply patching the cracks isn’t enough.” CAA-Quebec’s Worst Roads initiative is above all an entertaining way for members of the public to voice their concerns.
