Spaghetti supper moves to Fitch Bay
Therewill be a homemade spaghetti supper with all the fixings served this Saturday at 5:00 pm, at St. Ephrem Church in Fitch Bay, to raise money for Relay for Life, the fundraising initiative that raises money for cancer research.
A group of volunteers who call themselves the “Young and Old” will be serving spaghetti with a choice of sauces, including a vegetarian option, Caesar Salad, bread and a huge variety of desserts. “You don’t have to be on a team and take part in the walk to raise money for Relay for Life. We just wanted to do what we could,” said Brenda Phaneuf who organizes the event along with her husband Bill Phaneuf and Bruce and Debbie Smith. “We also have a big crew of helpers,” said Mrs. Phaneuf.
Last year the group held a spaghetti supper for this cause in Beebe. “We held it at the church but that church has been sold so we’re having it in Fitch Bay. I don’t know where we’d go if we didn’t have a church to hold the supper in,” said Brenda with some concern.
Almost one hundred tickets have been sold in advance for the event and people can also buy their tickets at the door.
