TheS­tanstead County Women’s In­sti­tute met at the home of Janet McLellen on April 28th, 2015. Present were Millred Miller, Elaine Stone, Irene Humphrey, Dyanne Saanum, Elevera Pat­ter­son, Phyl­lis Dustin, Jean Cass, Bar­bara He­witt, Janet McLellen, and Deb­bie Smith. Present Dyanne Saanum opened the meet­ing, with ev­ery­one re­peat­ing the Col­lect. A mo­ment of si­lence was held for our dear friend and mem­ber, Phyl­lis Knapp. Of­fi­cial wel­come was given by Janet McLellen for the Hat­ley Cen­tre Branch. Re­grets were sent in by Bar­bara Han­son, Con­nie Smith, Velma Eryou, Jackie Til­ton, Fran­coise Wil­liams, and Doreen Mof­fat, Roll call was an­swered by Ayer’s Cliff 2, Hat­ley Cen­tre 1, Hat­ley / Stanstead North 7. The min­utes of the last meet­ing were read by Deb­bie Smith. Deb­bie moved the adop­tion of her min­utes and Jean Cass 2nd - car­ried. Trea­sure Re­port was given by Phyl­lis Knapp. The check sent in for the Edna Smith Bur­sary has been cashed. We still haven’t seen any­thing in the newsletter about this Phyl­lis Moved her re­port and Mil­dred Miller 2nd - car­ried. The books will be ver­i­fied by Dean Young. A do­na­tion will be given to him for do­ing this for us. Moved by Janet McLellen and 2nd by Mil­dred Miller - car­ried. Phyl­lis told us that one of the Maud Kezar funds will come due in May. A mo­tion was made by Deb­bie Smith and 2nd by Bar­bara He­witt to re-in­vest this for a 3 year term. - car­ried. A mo­tion was made by Mil­dred Miller and 2nd by Irene Humphrey to make a do­na­tion to the Dr. Brown Me­mo­rial Schol­ar­ship in mem­ory of Phyl­lis Knapp. - car­ried. Deb­bie Smith to send a lit­tle note to the Knapp Fam­ily about this. There was one bill to be paid. Moved by Bar­bara He­witt and 2nd by Deb­bie Smith to pay this - car­ried. Busi­ness aris­ing - Lots of mem­bers went to vote for the school elec­tions. Deb­bie said that her and her hus­band could not vote as they were not on the list. She was told be­cause they do not
