Spaghetti and desserts draw huge crowd
Last Saturday’s spaghetti supper at the Catholic Church in Fitch Bay, organized to raise money for Relay for Life, was a great success. “We must have had about one hundred and seventy-five people. Some of them just wanted to eat the desserts when they saw the dessert table!” explained one of the event’s organizers, Brenda Phaneuf.
“I’d like to thank all of the helpers who helped cook and clean up after – there were a lot of dishes to do. We even had aprons on the men. I’d also like to thank the people who came out and supported the supper,” added Brenda. When combined with the profits from the bingo held earlier this year, this group of fundraisers will be able to give well over $2000 to the Relay for Life campaign. The actual total will not be known until later this week after the volunteers have counted and rolled all of the coins from the spaghetti supper.
