Dogs get their day – FAS Dog Walk coming up

Stanstead Journal - - FORUM - Victoria Vanier

Every year about this time, local dogs get their special day: the chance to go on a nice long walk along the beautiful Tomifobia Nature Trail, along with dozens of other furry friends, to raise money for the Frontier Animal Society. The Society is home to dozens of dogs and cats and actively looks for homes for their adoptable charges.

Besides being a wonderful outing for the FAS’ shelter dogs who are walked by volunteers during the event, this is the Frontier Animal Society’s most important fundraiser of the year. This year’s Dog Walk will take place on Saturday, May 30th, registration at 10:30 am, at 65 Embury Road, in Tomifobia. The walk will begin at 11:00, rain or shine (or snow or sleet!), because the dogs don’t mind!

The suggested donation to take part in the dog walk is $25 per family, however, walkers can raise even more by downloading a pledge sheet form the Frontier Animal Society’s website or calling 819 876-7747, and getting friends and family members to help sponsor the walk. Refreshments will be served to walkers and their dogs following the hike. All dogs are welcome!
