Grace Chris­tian and Con­naught Homes Of­fi­cially Wel­come Their New Ex­ec­u­tive Direc­tor

Res­i­dents, staff and vol­un­teers of Grace Chris­tian Home, Lennoxville and Con­naught Home, North Hat­ley, were pleased to cel­e­brate the ar­rival of their new Ex­ec­u­tive Direc­tor, Mr. Greg Bishop at a spe­cial bar­beque lun­cheon hosted at Con­naught Home on May 12, 2015.

Mr. Bishop as­sumed his re­spon­si­bil­i­ties on May 4th bring­ing with him ex­ten­sive lead­er­ship and man­age­ment ex­pe­ri­ence gained through a long ca­reer with the Fed­eral Public Ser­vice. Un­til his re­cent ap­point­ment he also served as a vol-

un­teer mem­ber of the Board of Di­rec­tors for both homes and has been a driv­ing force be­hind the in­sti­tu­tion’s cur­rent project for re­newal. Mr. Bishop is a na­tive of the Lennoxville and North Hat­ley re­gion and has deep roots in the area. He at­tended Sher­brooke and Lennoxville el­e­men­taries, Alexander Galt Re­gional High School, Cham­plain Col­lege, Bishop’s Uni­ver­sity and Univer­sité de Sher­brooke. Mr. Bishop served as an of­fi­cer in the Sher­brooke Hus­sars Reg­i­ment and has been an ac­tive vol­un­teer in a va­ri­ety of ca­pac­i­ties. He re­cently con­cluded a four year term as pres­i­dent of the Comp­ton County Fish & Game Club. Mr. Bishop is ex­cited about work­ing closely with staff, vol­un­teers and the com­mu­nity at large to­wards the goal of re­newal by firmly build­ing on years of th­ese in­sti­tu­tions’ his­tory of com­pas­sion­ate, lov­ing and ex­cel­lent care.

The Homes, which are cer­ti­fied pri­vate non for profit, char­i­ta­ble se­nior care fa­cil­i­ties were founded by Dr. W.J. Klinck and a group of de­voted vol­un­teers. Sup­ported by a gen­er­ous com­mu­nity, the homes have been pro­vid­ing com­pas­sion­ate care to se­niors since 1957. They are some of the last re­main­ing re­tire­ment & nurs­ing homes pro­vid­ing an es­sen­tial ser­vice to the English speak­ing com­mu­nity in the Eastern Town­ships. Cur­rently both homes pro­vide a full range of se­nior care in­clud­ing in­de­pen­dent living in du­plexes at Grace as well as long term, respite and se­cure Alzheimer’s care at both homes. There are doc­tors on call who make regular vis­its as well as a full time Reg­is­tered Nurse, Li­censed Prac­ti­cal Nurses and Cer­ti­fied Care Givers.
