The Dandies are here. It’s Time to Run! Just for the Fun of It
Thedandelions are here and runners are on their way from all over Vermont and the nation to celebrate High Spring in The Kingdom. Runners from Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Quebec, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington will be hitting the back country dirt roads through the world famous Dandelion Fields of Derby, Morgan and Holland.
dandelions should be just about peaking at next Saturday’s run which starts at 9 am on May 23, 2015 at The Derby Beach House on the 4H Road in Derby, VT. The run includes a half marathon and 10 K option with relay options on both courses. On line registration is open at www.dandelionrun.org. Walk in registrations on the day of the run are also accepted.

100 area youth are expected to participate in the 10 K youth relay option with each young runner doing 1, 2, or 3 miles. Elementary schools from around the county will be represented.
Reckless Breakfast, Patti Casey, and Don Houghton Jr. will be out on the course at the relay stations and will be playing back at the Derby Beach House for our informal picnic lunch and Dandelion Festival of Bluegrass, Fiddle, and Folk music.
Breakfast will also be playing at The EastSide Restaurant on Friday evening, May 22nd from about 6:30 to 9:00 pm. It is open to the public. There is no cover. For reservations call The EastSide at 802-334-0234
Dandelion Run honors the memory of Terri Weed who was murdered on May 21, 1981. 20% of all adult registration fees is donated to Umbrella its advocacy and support for victims of violence.
