MAC Center for the Arts presents Muse-ical Harvest III - Such Short Little Lives
When MAC Member Cat Holm mentioned a story of hers was to appear in the short story anthology "Rescued: The Stories of 12 Cats, Through Their Eyes, she provided the theme for the third in the MAC Center's "Muse-ical Harvest" performance series.
Friday, June 5, 6:30 pm performance will be about “our animal companions”. MAC will present poems, songs, and stories about them. The subtitle for the event, "Such Short Little Lives," comes to us courtesy of John Grogan, the author of "Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog." Mr. Grogan's funny and touching eulogy to Marley, Saying Farewell to a Faithful Pal, will be read by our emcee, Bradleigh S. Stockwell, to begin the evening.
The third Muse-ical Harvest will include a genuinely impressive roster of talent by MAC Members Cat Holm, John Selmer, Dianne Laplante, Susan-Lynn Johns, and by our two newest members: Mary Damiani and Diana Stockwell. An added attraction is a special appearance by Blackbird Storm –guitarist, Nathan Sargent and percussionist, Jim Duckless. Their quirky mixture of country and pop is becoming known in Vermont as a must-hear. A portion of the proceeds from Cat Holm’s book RESCUED will be donated to the POPE Frontier Animal Society.
Tickets on sale now at the MAC Center for the Arts, 158 Main Street, Newport. For more information call 802-334-1966 or visit us on the web at www.maccenterforthearts.com.
