Officerswith the Sureté du Quebec carried out a search at a residence on Holland Street, in Stanstead, last Wednesday. They found a marijuana grow-op in operation in the basement and seized more than two hundred and seventy cannabis plants in different stages of growth, as well as about one hundred grams of bulk marijuana and a small amount of hashish. The resident, a forty-four year-old man, was arrested and will appear in court at a later date. The operation was carried out after a short investigation that was initiated from information that came from the public.
In the wee hours of Monday morning, around 3:15 am, a store window on Principale, in Magog, was smashed by a twenty yearold man because he was in a rage after a disagreement in a Magog bar. The man injured his leg when he broke the window and had to be treated at the hospital.
A search was done by the SQ in a home on the Kingscroft Road in Barnston West, yesterday, after receiving information from the public. The residents, a man and a woman, were suspected of being involved in an illegal tobacco network. Two packages containing two hundred cigarettes each as well as two boxes containing several packages of illegal tobacco were found.
