TheAlexander Galt Piper Golf team completed a perfect ETIAC golf season Wednesday afternoon at the Milby Golf Club by winning their fourth major tournament of the season. The win also propelled the Pipers to claim their second league banner in as many years.

Galt entered the final major with a 35-stroke lead over Stanstead College and 38 over BCS. The boys from Galt ended up winning the final tournament by 3 shots over the second place Spartans. Graduating senior Anthony Gosselin got the boys from Galt going by winning his third consecutive low gross trophy for the best score. Veterans Jakob Laplante, Liam Pankovitch and Matthew Littlejohn followed Gosselin’s lead by posting some good scores of their own to help the team to victory.

The Pipers took a six-stroke lead after the opening tournament at the Cowansville Golf Club. They extended their lead to 23 strokes after dominating at the Old Lennoxville Golf Club and then won at the Dufferin Heights Golf Club by 12 more to set the stage for the finals at Milby.

Gosselin, Laplante and Pankovitch will graduate this June, but they left their mark as Littlejohn will help lead a younger team next year that has lots of promise in Michael Brazel, Shawn Robillard, Oiliver Grenier.

Thank you to the four golf clubs for hosting the young ETIAC golfers.
