Card players ante up for local children

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier, Stanstead

The Canada-USA Bridge Group, the local bridge-playing club that meets regularly in the homes of its members to play, presented their annual cheque to the CAB RH Rediker’s Children’s Program (PACE) on Monday. The Club was able to raise $400 for the CAB this year, money that will be used to buy healthy snacks for the kids in the program.

The Club finished its latest season in April and held its big Bridge party in May. The two top teams of the season were Lilian Kelly and Huguette Black, from the United States, and Fran Williams and Barbara Varney from Canada. The Club will start up again in July.

The Canada-USA Bridge Group, which has members from both sides of the border, is always looking for new two-person teams of Bridge players to join the fun. If you would like more information or want to join, call Jean Harris at 819 876-5937 or Elizabeth Ostiguy at 819 838-5830.
