20th Big Boost for children with cancer
The 20th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles Bruneau, one of the biggest fundraisers in Quebec, took place over the weekend and raised $3.2 million for children fighting cancer. Over four hundred cyclists across Quebec took part in six different cycling circuits, travelling 1600 kilometres in all to raise the impressive amount.
The twenty-eight Sherbrooke cyclists began their route last Thursday, July 9th, at the CHUS Fleurimont. They were accompanied by two of the event’s spokespersons, comedian Eve Landry and journalist Julie Marcoux, for the fundraising ride. The Sherbrooke cyclists biked three hundred kilometres between Sherbrooke and Boucherville to raise their share of the money for the Fondation Centre de cancerologie Charles Bruneau.
