Bishop’s Univer­sity Wel­comes In­ter­na­tion­ally Renowned Singer

Bishop’s Univer­sity is ex­cited to welcome Jeremy Huw Wil­liams to Ban­deen Hall for the first con­cert of his North Amer­i­can tour on Fri­day, Septem­ber 25. A Welsh bari­tone, Mr. Wil­liams is com­ing to Bishop’s from the Welsh Na­tional Opera, and will be ac­com­pa­nied on the pi­ano by Paula Fan. Mr. Wil­liams will also be pre­sent­ing the lec­ture ''A New Voice: Cre­ativ­ity and Col­lab­o­ra­tion in Clas­si­cal Mu­sic'' on Septem­ber 25 at 12:30 p.m. in Ban­deen Hall.

He made his de­but with Welsh Na­tional Opera as Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) and has since ap­peared in sixty op­er­atic roles. He has given per­for­mances at ma­jor venues in North and South Amer­ica, Aus­tralia, Hong Kong, and most Euro­pean coun­tries.

Mr. Wil­liams was awarded an Honorary Fel­low­ship by Glyn­dwr Univer­sity in 2009 for ser­vices to mu­sic in Wales, and re­ceived the Honorary De­gree of Doc­tor of Mu­sic from the Univer­sity of Aberdeen in 2011.

Mr. Wil­liams's North Amer­i­can tour is sup­ported by the Wil­liam Al­wyn Foun­da­tion.
