As part of its Café Scientifique Series, Bishop’s University invites members of the community with an interest in the current federal election campaign to take part in a discussion and exchange of ideas around the topic “What Makes the 2015 Election Unique?”.

Hosted by the University’s Research Office, the event promises to tackle a variety of factors that have combined to make the 2015 Federal election unique in Canadian history, namely the New Democratic Party polling at unprecedented levels across the country, a campaign period running twice as long as usual, and the recent passing of the Fair Election Act.

The panel discussion will include: Dr. Michael McGregor, Professor in Bishop’s University’s Department of Politics and International Studies, Dr. Patrick Fournier, Professor at the Université de Montréal’s Department of Political Science, and David Price, Lennoxville Borough President at the City of Sherbrooke and former Member of Parliament. Each will provide the audience with his own unique insights from academia and the political trenches.

Anyone with a general interest in the 2015 Federal Election is invited to come enjoy a beer and participate actively in what will surely be a lively and enlightening discussion.

Don’t miss this Public Talk: ‘‘What Makes the 2015 Election Unique?’’, on Monday September 28, 7 p.m. at the Golden Lion Pub and Brewery, 2896 College St., Lennoxville.
